This update comes on the heels of last week’s Insider Build 15055. As with last week’s build, there are no new features but does include a good number of “under the hood” improvements and bug fixes. We’re getting closer to Microsoft signing off on the final version as is set to be rolled out to everyone next month. It’s also worth noting that the watermark which is normally displayed at the lower-right corner of the desktop has been removed. The version is, of course, still 1703 and the expiration date in the About Windows screen is gone.

In fact, after installing the Windows 10 Cumulative Update KB4013429 — head to Settings > Update & security > Windows update and you’ll see the company is advertising Creators Update which you can see in the screenshot below.

Windows 10 Creators Update Build 15058 for PC

Here is the list of what has been fixed, improved, and changed according to Windows Insider chief Dona Sarkar:

We fixed the issue causing a number of inbox apps to fail to launch (such as Store) and preventing any app updates from the Store from installing. We fixed another issue causing some UWP apps would unexpectedly appear with their app package name in the title bar as opposed to the app name.We fixed an issue where going to fullscreen or maximizing Microsoft Edge when Microsoft Edge’s window was snapped to a size smaller than half the screen would trigger back navigation. We fixed an issue resulting in the mouse pointer staying visible when watching a video fullscreen in Microsoft Edge.We fixed a crash Insiders may have sometimes experienced in recent builds when accessing the Wi-Fi Settings page via Settings > Network & Internet > Wi-Fi.We fixed an issue where the desktop session sometimes crashed for Insiders after locking if the PC was set to lock on sleep. After this happened, trying to unlock the computer could result either seeing an unexpected “Can’t log in: The number of connections to this computer is limited and all connections are in use” error on the login screen, or a successful login only to find all open apps had been closed. We fixed an issue where renaming an encrypted PDF would reset the default PDF reader if it was not currently set to Microsoft Edge.We have improved video playback quality on the target device when using Miracast to wirelessly connect from a high DPI PC to another high DPI device.

To get the latest update, verify that you’re in the Fast ring (which you might not be if you moved to the Slow ring to get built-in app updates) and go to Settings > Update & security > Windows update. And, of course, remember that with all preview builds there are known bugs and other issues. Head to the Microsoft Blog to see the full changelog. If you’re an Insider, let us know what you think of these recent builds as we get closer the final version of Creators Update. Some Insiders have reported seeing this error “Some updates were cancelled. We’ll keep trying in case new updates become available” in Windows Update. If you encounter it, try deleting the following registry key: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\WindowsUpdate\Auto Update\RequestedAppCategories\8b24b027-1dee-babb-9a95-3517dfb9c552 I had to search for all instances of 8b24b027-1dee-babb-9a95-3517dfb9c552 in the registry though.
