Earlier this week Yahoo trimmed it’s workforce laying off roughly 600 employees. Following the layoffs are more changes, and it seems Yahoo doesn’t know what to do with itself so they’re taking a cut-n-run approach. The Delicious social bookmarking site will be closing in the next few months, followed by other Yahoo services. It has been 5 years since Yahoo acquired Delicious from the developer Joshua Schachter, when I first saw news of the acquisition I was excited because I thought Yahoo would take it to new heights....

This week Sprint actually pushed through the official Jelly Bean 4.1 update for the Samsung Galaxy SII Epic Touch 4G (SPH-D710). Even though this is the exact same version that was leaked weeks ago, many are (myself included) almost in disbelief that it’s official. It will be interesting to see if this is the last or more updates continue to be released. Unlike previous updates this one will only be available through Samsung Kies software, and not over-the-air....

Cumulative Update Build 150063.11 Released to Fast and Slow Rings The availability of 15063.11 (KB4016250) was announced in the Windows Insider Feedback hub. Although the Windows Creators Update won’t be generally available until April 11, Microsoft is giving Windows Insiders early access to kick the tires. The update focuses on fixing issues in Microsoft’s line of Surface devices, re-enumerating the Bluetooth radio when resumed from hibernation. Systems running MacAfee Enterprise also receive a fix when installing on a device running build 15060 configured with Device Guard security technology....

Using Icon Views in File Explorer To begin, click Start > File Explorer or press Windows key + E and go to your Documents folder (or the directory you want). File Explorer uses two default views: “Details” and “Large icons”. You can toggle by using the keyboard shortcut Ctrl + Shift + 6 and Ctrl + Shift + 2. My personal favorite way to visual files is the Details view, which sorts all my files in columns by name, date modified, type, and size....

Opinion Cloud Truly amazing application. What it does is that is summarizes the overall opinion of the crowd for a particular topic or thread. The overall way the application summarizes results and opinions is nice and incredibly accurate. This is definitely one of the must-have extension for Chrome. FeedSquares As far as online RSS readers go, it’s hard to beat Google Reader. Sadly however, the Google Reader interface is quite boring and not very effective if you want to quickly skip through the news....

Just like last year, Google is teaming up with different U.S. airlines to bring free WiFi internet to airports and on flights. From November 20 through January 2, this deal is live and groovy baby! Why do we need free in-flight WiFi? I can hardly think of anything more boring than sitting at an airport waiting for your flight to arrive. Oh wait, what about sitting on a plane? Squished in between a stranger or two and completely disconnected from the rest of the world, there isn’t much to do....

I had already read and implemented the new markup on my blog the day before (thanks to yoast) so I didn’t exactly see Matt’s post as BREAKING, however that being said, what Matt’s post did was start me thinking about some of the long-term implications of what Google can do once Authorship is identified for content on the Internet. Why is Authorship important? But recently, I discovered an even better way: cancel right after you sign up for a membership. When you sign up a for a free trial, you have to put in your credit card information and authorize an automatic renewal that kicks in when your trial membership ends....
